Will it actually reach the middle of my back?

That's the whole reason it exists. The handle is long enough to get behind your shoulder blades without twisting your arm into a position it doesn't want to hold. If it doesn't reach for you, don't send it back — email us, you keep the brush, we refund you.

Which head should I start with?

Soft silicone, with your normal body wash, daily. Once you know how your skin responds, add the firm bristle head a couple of times a week for rough patches, the lather head when you want more foam, and pumice for heels. Start soft — you can always go firmer.

Can I over-exfoliate with it?

Yes, and you should be careful about that. Daily use with the soft silicone head is fine for most people. The firm bristle head is for a couple of times a week, not every day. Over-scrubbing dries skin out and can make it produce more oil, not less. Start with the soft head and see how your skin responds.

Does it tangle long hair?

Test it on genuinely long wet hair with your sample, then write what actually happened. Is it safe to use in the shower?

Do not answer this question at all until you have the IPX rating and the third-party test report from Ningbo Purly. Then state the rating, plainly, and say what it does and doesn't cover — IPX ratings are about splashing and jets, not submersion, and customers read them as "waterproof." This is the single highest-liability sentence on the whole store: it is an electrical device and people will take it into water on the strength of it. ]]

How do I keep the heads clean?

Rinse the head under running water when you're done and stand the handle up to air-dry. The heads pop off, so you can rinse each one properly instead of letting product build up in the bristles.

How is this different from a $12 long-handle brush?

The brush needs your shoulder to supply pressure at an awkward angle. This supplies its own. If you're happy with a manual brush and it's working, honestly keep using it — this is for people for whom that isn't working.

How is this different from the ones on Amazon?

The hardware in this category is broadly similar, and we'd rather say that than pretend otherwise. What's different is replacement heads you can actually buy when they wear out, and a returns policy where you don't ship a used shower brush back to us. Judge whether that's worth the difference.
